Training and Learning

We’re committed to ensuring that our professionals have the resources and support to meet the goals of the U.S. Air Force mission – today and in the future. We offer development opportunities and initiatives for employees at all levels throughout the organization. Learn more about the ways in which you can grow with AFLCMC.

Career Development

From degree-based education to computer application training, a number of higher education organizations throughout the area offer on-base opportunities for employees to broaden their skill sets. Tuition assistance may be available upon request for college courses.

We also offer in-house training courses on topics including briefing techniques, generations in the workplace, computer application training and more. With instruction from education and training office staff, these courses are offered at no cost to our civilian and military personnel.

Career Broadening Program

The Career Broadening Program prepares midlevel employees for higher-level supervisory and managerial positions. One of the Air Force’s formal leadership development programs, participants take on 30-month-long assignments that can provide experiences in other functional areas at other locations, often with a different mission focus.

Junior Force Council

The goal of the Junior Force Council (JFC) is to bridge the communication and knowledge gap between the junior workforce and senior leadership. Although membership is targeted toward employees with less than 10 years of service, all employees are welcome to participate in JFC-sponsored activities.

The JFC works to foster a culture of communication and camaraderie throughout all levels of the workforce. JFC-hosted events have included:

  • Town Hall meetings
  • Food drives
  • Mentoring opportunities and events
  • Warfighter deployment panel
  • Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Soapbox Derby
  • JFC Symposium

Professional Military Education (PME)

PME prepares high-potential civilian employees for increased responsibility in management and leadership positions. This training is offered through the:

  • Squadron Officer School (SOS)
  • Air Command and Staff College (ACSC)
  • Air War College (AWC)
